Arts Ministry Team

Believing: in a Creator God who loves beauty, whose image can be seen in every human being, and that we human beings reflect our worldview in our artistic creations.

We desire to: help our church and community understand and receive art as it is expressed in all media, provide opportunities for our church body to use their artistic gifts and skills to the glory of God, and reach out to the artistic community in the Tri-Cities region.

Contact the Arts Ministry Team Leader, Bev Gullett, with any questions or interest.

Music in Worship - We’re always looking for more musicians to assist us in providing music for our worship service. If you are interested in learning more about music and worship opportunities at Christ Community Church, please contact our administrator, Abby Neff.

Community Life Ministry Team

Community life is very important to us at Christ Community Church, so we seek to provide frequent opportunities for our church family to be together.

Picnics - During the summer months we have church picnics twice a month. Since our community groups take a break for the summer, our church picnics provide relaxing, fun opportunities for us to stay connected.

Monthly fellowship meals - On the first Sunday of each month we have a fellowship meal after our worship service.

Gathering events - We also have a number of gathering events through the year that provide opportunities for us to continue building relationships with one another. Check out the calendar on this website and/or sign up to receive our weekly announcements email.

To find out more about community life at Christ Community Church, please contact our Community Team Leader, Lindsey Harman.

Discipleship Ministry Team

The Discipleship Ministry Team Vision/Mission Statement

We exist to help the people of Christ Community Church grow in their devotion to God, love of other believers and compassion for the world.

We believe that as an individual learns how the good news of the gospel impacts every area of life he or she will experience a growing desire and ability to follow Christ, rely upon the Holy Spirit and obey the Father.

We believe that this occurs through participation in the corporate life of the church and through focused personal growth through activities such as life-on-life mentoring, small group Bible studies and instruction in the “skills of the faith”.

We pray that this growth will lead to an atmosphere of spiritual vigor and devotion that honors Christ, blesses our Community and equips the Church.

The Discipleship Ministry Team Leader is Liz Smith. Please contact her with any questions about the discipleship ministry.

Mercy Ministry Team

The Mercy Ministry Team exists to promote, encourage, and enable the body of Christ Community Church to seek the welfare of our city by creating and supporting opportunities for ministries of mercy and justice in our community.

Christ Community Church is currently building a relationship with the residents of the Memorial Park neighborhood in Johnson City. There are a number of different ways for you to get involved. Contact the Mercy Ministry Team Leader, Joel Van Eaton, to find out more.

High School Ministry: Young Life

Young Life is a non-denominational, Christian, non-profit organization that is committed to introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith. Young Life staff and leaders are caring adults who strive to build positive relationships with teenagers.

Through friendships as well as through club, Campaigners and camp, Young Life leaders get to know teenagers and gain their trust. Because of these relationships, leaders "earn the right to be heard" and can share the Gospel with their teenage friends.

Young Life wants to reach every kid, everywhere, for eternity. Currently, Young Life is active in all 50 states and more than 45 foreign countries, reaching an estimated one million teenagers annually. Approximately 120,000 middle school and high school students are involved with Young Life on a weekly basis. More than 75,000 kids spend a weekend during the school year or a week in the summer at one of Young Life's 21 camping properties in the United States and Canada.

Young Life's Area Director for upper east Tennessee is Scott Caldwell, who with his family attends Christ Community Church. Christ Community Church encourages all of our middle school and high school students to prayerfully consider getting involved with Young Life. Young Life Clubs are currently meeting at Science Hill, Daniel Boone, and Elizabethton with a club starting at Crockett in the near future.
